There is enough need for financing: be it in daycare, climate-friendly facilities, care homes or research centres. The only problem, they say, is that there’s not enough money. Is that true? Or is it more a question of political will? And how can we determine what is in the service of society?

That’s what we discussed in our next New Economy Short Cut with Philippa Sigl-Glöckner, who addresses this very issue in her recently published book ‘Gutes Geld’ – and with Stefan Kolev from the Ludwig-Erhard-Forum.

Philippa Sigl-Glöckner

is an economist, financial policy expert and managing director of the think tank Dezernat Zukunft. She previously worked at the World Bank and in the German and Liberian Ministries of Finance. She is co-chair of the SPD's Economic Policy Advisory Council and studied in Oxford and London.

Stefan Kolev

is the Scientific Director of the Ludwig-Erhard-Forum for Economy and Society in Berlin and a Professor of Economic Policy at West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau. He researches the history of liberal economic thought and is a board member of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
