Maja Göpel - "Rethinking our world".

In her newly published book, our academic partner, political economist Maja Göpel, questions our growth-oriented economic system and searches for a sustainable development model.

The 200-page book is clearly addressed as an invitation to the general public and is therefore recommended reading even for non-economists. The central task of this invitation is for the readership to say goodbye to the illusory world of eternal economic growth with limitless consumption of resources. We must no longer refuse to accept the new reality, says Göpel.

With vivid historical anecdotes and quotes from famous scientists, the author provides an insight into both the urgency and the difficulty of the task of transforming our economic system in a sustainable way. This goes far beyond concrete policy measures. “We need a reconsideration of the values that support people in their cooperative aliveness,” says Göpel.
